Job Title: Pharmacy Tech

(Only QUALIFIED Healthcare Professionals accepted) Pharmacy Technician - Aspirus Wausau Hospital Facility, Cancer Center Pharmacy Department
13-week contract assignment!

Job duties
Prepares chemotherapy and other sterile products accurately, using aseptic technique USP 797, ASHP, ONS, OSHA, and NIOSH guidelines
Follows USP 797, ASHP, ONS, OSHA, NIOSH, and Green Bay Oncology policies, procedures, and safety standards for handling and disposal of chemotherapy and other hazardous drugs.
Cleans primary engineering controls and ISO classified areas according to policies and procedures.
Maintain patient confidentiality by following HIPAA guidelines. Performs inventory management duties such as, ordering, receiving, shipping, storing, and bulk charging for medications administered following established policies and procedures.
Documents patient data accurately and efficiently using the electronic medical record and maintains accurate documentation of clinical trial records and inventory.
Communicates effectively and professionally with other members of the healthcare team
Maintains regular and reliable attendance
Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: ·

Proper aseptic technique.· Proper handling of hazardous medications.·
Knowledge of HIPAA, USP 797, OSHA, and NIOSH regulations.
Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and|or in writing, with physicians, co-workers and customers, in occasionally stressful situations.
Basic computer and office equipment skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple projects, assignments, and work demands.
Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to emergency situations.
Ability to accurately interpret instructions, policies and procedures and to take initiative and make rational decisions to resolve given tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED
2 years’ experience in chemotherapy preparation
Preferred

Graduate of an accredited Pharmacy Technician Program or a 240 hour employer based Technician training Program or 1,000 hours of Pharmacy experience
PTCB pharmacy tech certification
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS|WORK ENVIRONMENT

Regularly required to stand; sit; twist; bend; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
Occasionally required to climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.· The employee must regularly lift and|or move up to 35 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to smell and to adjust focus.
Employee is exposed to hazardous chemicals and is frequently required to use personal protective equipment, PPE, to prevent exposure to hazardous agents.
