Job Responsibilities
Position Title: Molecular Technologist
Shift: Full Time
Location: Clifton, NJ Area
The molecular diagnostic laboratory performs cutting edge molecular diagnostics for hematological malignancy and solid tumors using a state of the art molecular technique. We are seeking clinical molecular technologists to perform molecular testing. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Additional responsibilities of the Molecular Technologist include:
• Perform clinical and clinical trial molecular testing.
• Analyze and interpret test results.
• Perform instrument maintenance, calibration, and reagent quality control procedure.
• Assist with organization, storage, and retrieval of patient specimens, as needed.
• Demonstrate precision, efficiency and consistency.
• Complete appropriate training and adhere to all applicable Standard Operating Procedures.
Molecular Technologist (Healthcare | Medical Laboratory)
Job Requirements
Successful candidates for the Molecular Technologist must have experience with hematological malignancy and solid tumor testing techniques. Someone with ASCP certification in Molecular Pathology or Molecular Biology, would be a good fit for this role but it is not required. Equivalent experience considered.
Additional requirements of the Molecular Technologist role include:
• Bachelor degree in biomedical Science, or related scientific field, Master degree a plus.
• Previous 1 – 2 years’ experience working in a clinical molecular lab.
• Good computer skills and experience in molecular biology techniques are required.
• Previous molecular technical experience, including isolation of DNA|RNA, PCR, Real Time PCR, Sanger sequencing, and|or capillary fragment analysis.
• Strong organization skills with the ability to successfully manage workload accurately as assigned, and within established time frames.
• Good team focus, with the ability to work independently, as well as contribute to the team.
• Good professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
