Job Title: Assistant Director School of Nursing

This position is in the School of Nursing at a Medical Center in Upstate New York. This is an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse who loves designing and coordinating Curriculums for nursing courses.
You will be involved in the leadership of a historical School of Nursing dating back to 1889. It is a part of a non-profit health system comprised of three hospitals and providing health care and qualified nurses to a region in the Southern Tier of Update New York and Northern Pennsylvania. In this role you will report directly to the System Director of the School of Nursing|Education Department and will participate with the faculty in the total program evaluation in meeting the goals of the school.
25% of your time will be allocated for program and curriculum coordination functions. As the AD you will guide and direct course facilitators and instructors in course design, implementation, scheduling and evaluation to achieve the student learning outcomes of each course, level and the program of study. You will utilize current adult educational principles and student-centered learning strategies and will be an active faculty member.
As the Assistant Director you will assume direct responsibility for educating students in the classroom and clinical settings and faculty teaching assignments for course facilitators and instructors. You will be responsible for assisting with operational, personnel and capital budget planning, implementation and controls.
Ideally you need to present the following qualifications:
• Master’s Degree in nursing Doctorate in nursing is preferred
• Current NYS nursing licensure
• Have knowledge of curriculum development, implementation and evaluation in the area of nursing and nursing education.
• Demonstrated leadership skills combined with exceptional interpersonal skills, critical thinking and time management.
