Direct Hire - Full-time
Provides Administrative support to the Clinical Director of RMP.
Assists with oversight of daily clinical operations of the Infusion Center and Oncology|Hematology practice including but not limited to staffing and assisting staff to prioritize tasks.
Assists with patient care, patient concerns|complaints.
Assists with recruiting, hiring and training staff.
Assists with planning, development and implementation of process improvement projects.
Assist with policy review and development.
Represent the department in meetings, seminars and other functions.
Assist with performance feedback to staff as needed.
Assumes responsibility of the unit in the absence of the Clinical Director.
As a member of the Oncology|Hematology team is responsible for all nursing tasks such as nursing assessments, data collection, documentation transcription of treatment plans and orders, and prescription refills for oncology|hematology patients.
Administers infusions injections, performs phlebotomy, collects specimens, access medi-ports, insert peripheral intravenous devices, perform second verification for chemotherapy administration in the infusion center.
Provide patient and family education as necessary.
Education|Qualifications:
Graduate of accredited registered professional nursing program. Bachelor of Science in Nursing required, will consider candidates who are currently enrolled in a BSN or higher nursing degree program.
Current ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy provider card or must obtain within 3 months of hire.
Experience:
Demonstrated Oncology experience within the last three years
Seven years of relevant experience, including at least four or more years of progressively responsible nursing experience.
Experience supervising clinic environment, infusion center experience preferred.
Skills:
Excellent infusion therapy-related skills (peripheral and central lines)
High level of organization and communication skills
Licensure|Certificates|Certification:
Current NYS registration|license
Current CPR, ACLS, certification required.
Oncology Chemotherapy| Biochemistry certificate required within first 3 months of hire.
OCN National Certification preferred, must obtain within one year of hire.
