Job Description

The primary focus of the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is to provide high-quality care to patients consistent with training and expertise, while improving the health of patients and the community. This position reports to the Lead Psychiatrist.

Details:

Permanent, full-time position
Available to work 24-40 hours per week
Average 5-6 patients per half day
Work as a member of the behavioral health and primary care team
Provide psychotropic medication evaluations and follow-up care for patients
Provide case consultation to team members regarding psychotropic medication questions
Provide patients education and medication advice to diverse patients
Provide input about treatment changes including medication changes
Provide ongoing education and consultation to physicians and other members of the team
Maintain EHR charts: NextGen

Qualifications

Must possess a California Registered Nurse License, Nurse Practitioner Furnishing License, and have successfully completed a Nurse Practitioner program
Board Certification
Minimum two years’ experience as a Nurse Practitioner in an outpatient psychiatric setting
Experience with outpatient treatment of adults, children, and adolescents with psychiatric disorders
Skilled in conducting mental health counseling and education sessions
Bilingual English|Spanish preferred
