About Life and Living in the Rutland|Killington Region of Vermont

Yes You CAN Live & Work In New England’s Vacation Land
Vermont has long been known as a treasured year-round vacation destination for millions of people living in nearby metropolitan areas that seek to escape the congestion of their cities and enjoy some fresh air while paddling on our pristine lakes and rivers or hiking our mountains for some breathtaking views. Fall Foliage season in September and October is perhaps most widely known, since it is the time all eyes are on Vermont, in all her glory with spectacular mountainsides of bright yellows and brilliant reds second to none due to the high numbers of sugar maples defining the landscape. These are the same maples that produce our Vermont Maple Syrup which is very well known through the nation as simply being the best and purest Maple Syup available!

Close Enough, Yet A World Away From Popular Cities
Downtown Rutland is a beautifully restored shopping, dining and entertainment district brimming with family-oriented events, restaurants, brew pubs and its most famous gem, the 850 seat Paramount Theater. Rutland’s convenient location in the middle of the state makes it an excellent place to live, work and play due to its easy access to all the major roads providing access to Burlington, Middlebury, Stowe, Woodstock, Manchester and Bennington. Thanks to traffic being non-existant when compared to most other areas, visiting the big cities is just a car or train ride away. The closest and most popular destinations include Boston, (170 mi) Hartford (150 mi), New York City (240 mi) Cape Cod (220 mi) and Albany (100 mi).

Killington for Year-Round Activities!
Killington, just 10 miles ‘up the hill’ to the east is home to many winter and summer events including outdoor concerts on the mountain, bike races, foot races to the peak, a wine festival, brewfest and of course the best skiing and snowboarding on the 4,241' peak of Killington Mountain.

Community Attractions

About Life and Living in the Rutland/Killington Region of Vermont Life in Rutland is centered around a wonderful community of people united in enjoying, preserving and maintaining the cherished safe, active, outdoor Vermont lifestyle we have come to love. Most residents and visitors make good use of all Vermont has to offer, but especially the spectacular natural resources and scenic beauty that surrounds us. Visitors new to the area always comment on what a positive difference it makes having no roadside billboards disturbing the endless vistas on Vermont’s roads!
