Job Title: ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ

Currently seeking a motivated Electrical Engineer for its civil aviation programs. The position requires a minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related fields and 8 years of relevant experience. This position is located at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)’s William J. Hughes Technical Center adjacent to the Atlantic City International Airport, New Jersey.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES|RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Candidate will work as part of S\Client's civil aviation programs supporting the FAA projects. Current project support efforts include the following activities: (1) Analyze proposed system design and component choices to ensure compliance with contractual requirements; (2) Design and develop a comprehensive operational test program to ensure systems are suitable and effective for use in the National Airspace System (NAS). This includes producing formal test procedures, test plans, and test reports in accordance with FAA Test and Evaluation (T&E) policy. (3) Oversee Vendor test activities including witnessing dry-run and formal testing at the Vendor's facility or certified test lab, reviewing test procedures and test results for accuracy and conformance to the contract requirements, and ensuring best engineering and test practices are followed; (4) Participate in Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), Program Overview Meetings (POMs), and brief highly technical information to wide ranging audiences; (5) Develop and use software tools to efficiently manage the test program including problem tracking, requirements tractability, and data reduction & analysis; and (6) Use a variety of electronic test equipment (multi-meters, oscilloscopes, RF power meters, network analyzers, etc.) during test bed development and formal test conduct.
• Candidate must have good verbal and written communication skills, which are necessary for technical reports and presentations, and work well in both group and individual assignments.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Requires minimum 8 years’ relevant experience (or 6 years with a MS degree)
• Must have excellent Hardware experience and Circuit Design knowledge
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills
• Electrical equipment installation experience
• T&E experience including writing test plan, procedure, and report
• Must be able to work well independently and with a team
• Must be US Citizen or Green Card holder

PREFERRED|OPTIONAL SKILLS:

Familiarity with navigation and landing systems is not required but a plus
