Job Title: Registered Nurse

(Only QUALIFIED Healthcare Professionals accepted) Student Health - Full-Time Registered Nurse needed in New Hampshire!

Join a hospital & school system in New Hampshire that serves individuals with disabilities in New England and New York through specialized education, rehabilitation, and support services.  This position is in the Health Center.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 2nd Shift 2 pm-10 pm.

Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in New Hampshire. A minimum of one year clinical nursing experience (postgraduate) in medical|surgical or emergency care. Supervisory experience is desirable. History of Psych nursing desirable.

General Responsibilities:
- Perform, in accordance with physician’s orders, necessary nursing treatments including administration of medications.
- May assist in annual physical exams, including vision and tuberculin screening for students.
- Assist the Medical Director and|or his designee at “sick call,” and wherever else needed. Provides for initial assessment of students’ illnesses|injuries and notifies physician|case manager|parent as indicated.
- Arrange for external consultations, physician visits and|or specific treatments as indicated or directed.
- Assist in communication and consultation with students’ home physicians to ensure coordination and continuity of care at all levels.
- Consult with Case Managers and|or educational staff regarding students’ medical needs and condition, as appropriate.
- Provide on-going medical education to students and their families as well as to staff.
- Assist in the assessment of work-related injuries and potentially communicable illnesses among staff.
- Assist in TB screening programs for staff.
- May attend and participate in various Center meetings to include, but not limited to client staffings, team and residential staff meetings and physician consults.
- Supervise all direct care staff on the unit during scheduled shifts and provide direction and performance feed back.
- Complete and present written evaluations to direct care staff in your unit in a timely manner.
- Perform other duties as directed or required.
