Job Title: Obstetrics Coordinator RN

(Only QUALIFIED Healthcare Professionals accepted) Other - Obstetrics Coordinator needed in St. Paul, NE! Permanent! 8-5
This position administers, directs and coordinates activities of patient care within Maternity and Newborn service areas and is responsible for the recommendation, development and implementation of policies and procedures. Responsible for leading and managing all OB staff in the department including input on hiring, discharge, performance, evaluations and discipline.

• Coordinates and directs all activities of the Obstetrics nursing staff.
• Ensure adequate daily OB staffing.
• Manage the on-call OB schedule to ensure appropriate coverage at all times.
• Organize and teach childbirth education classes
• Assist the nursing department in times of high census and|or low staffing levels.
• Participates in and promotes Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI)
• Improve current processes and facility projects as necessary.
• Develop nursing policies, procedures, and standing orders.
• Monitor quality controls and implements improvements|changes to achieve quality levels.
• Ensure service levels are achieved and maintained, and makes adjustments where necessary.
• Assists in developing a qualified and productive workforce.
• Interviewing and selection of potential employees.
• Provide input and education at monthly staffing meetings.
• Coordinate new employee orientation schedules.
• Orient new employees in a thorough manner to department and organizational operations and procedures.
• Provide on-going training to department staff in an appropriate and thorough manner.
• Offer opportunity for continuing education by sharing knowledge, accessing internal opportunities, and considers external opportunities to support the continued development of department staff.
• Assist in writing new job descriptions and keeping current job descriptions up to date.
• Performs employee relation functions effectively to promote a positive work environment, influence retention, and enhance communication.
• React effectively to unplanned circumstances, demands, and challenges facing the department.
• Develop, support, and actively seek activities that establish an environment that promotes recognition and retention for employees.
• Address employee issues in an effective and timely manner.
• Communicate with Chief Nursing Officer and HR regarding employee issues appropriately in an effort to obtain guidance and reduce potential organizational liability.
• Enforce and support policies and procedures with employees, as necessary.
• Follows all scope and standards of professional nursing practice guidelines.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Education: Graduate of an Accredited Registered Nursing Program, Current Nebraska Registered Nurse Licensure is required
Experience: 3-5 years of maternity experience is required.
Salary: $60,000 - $80,000
