Job Title: Nurse Practitioner /Advanced Practice RN/Psychiatric Physician Assistant

Start date: July 24, 2018

Length: 3 months with possible extension

Hours: 40hrs|wk – No call|No overtime

Pay Rate: $80 to $85|hr

Job Description: Advanced Practice RN I | NP|Psychiatric Physician Assistant

• The Advanced Practice RN|NP|PA is appointed by the Medical Director subject to the approval of the Facility Director.
• Must have 2 + years experience with Psych, intellectually patients
• The Advanced Practice RN is clinically and administratively responsible to the Medical Director.
• Performs advanced clinical medical care under the supervision of a physician. Work involves assessing, planning, and providing comprehensive patient care independently or in collaboration with health care professionals.
• Work involves directing medical activities|treatment: monitoring trends and activities, making recommendations for improvement.
• All other duties as assigned by the Medical Director|Facility Director.
• May plan, assign, and|or supervise the work of others.
• Works under minimal supervision with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
• Provide treatment to HHS employees injured in course and scope of employment.

Knowledge Skills Abilities:

1. Must be licensed as an Advance Practice Nurse by the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners. 2. Must have or have the ability to obtain the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and the Texas Department of State Health Services Control Substance Board.
3. Must poses a National Provider Identifier (NPI#) as defined by Medicare Part B.
4. Knowledge of methods and procedures in the field of general medicine|nursing including laws and ordinances governing public health and hospital operations.
5. Knowledge of principles, methods and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment.
6. The ability to examine, diagnoses, and treat physical and mental disorders.
7. The ability to interpret laboratory analyses and x-rays.
8. Knowledge of the principles of the development, implementation, and documentation of case histories and individualized care and treatment plans.
9. Skill in the care and treatment of patients and in the use of medical diagnostic and treatment tools and equipment.
10. Ability to supervise the work of others who provide medical care to patients.
11. The ability to appropriately interact with individuals with developmental disabilities.
12. The ability to present ideas clearly and concisely in both written and oral communications. 13. The ability to prepare and maintain medical records.
14. The ability to work productively with professionals and paraprofessionals as an effective member of an interdisciplinary team.
15. The ability to work independently and be flexible in carrying out assigned responsibilities.

Registration or Licensure Requirements:

• Must be licensed as an Advance Practice Nurse|PA by the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners.
