The Medical Director is responsible for directly providing palliative care consultations for patients and providing leadership and direction to an interdisciplinary palliative team that includes one or more ARNPs, social workers and chaplains. This position provides and assures expert palliative medical consultation and serves as a liaison between the hospice facility, hospital attending physicians and community physicians. The Medical Director also provides education to hospital physicians and staff to promote the benefits of palliative medicine.
