Job Title: Surgical Services Manager/RN

(Only QUALIFIED Healthcare Professionals accepted) Surgical Services-Nurse Manager - Full-time Surgical Services Manager|RN needed in Upstate New York!

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE:
- Licensed and currently registered in New York State as a Registered Professional Nurse in good standing
- BSN preferred, AAS or diploma to be evaluated with experience
- A minimum of 5 years experience in the peri-operative field – “hands-on”
- BLS, ACLS and PALS
- Previous management experience in the medical field

RESPONSIBILITES: Planning, implementation, and coordination of all daily operations within the Operating Room, Ambulatory Surgery Unit, Pre-ASU, Endoscopy and Central Sterile Processing. This includes, but is not exclusive to:
- Directing and supervising the personnel and delivery of care within these departments
- Managing and coordinating administrative issues within the respective departments
- Acting as liaison between the department’s staff, the Medical Providers and Administration
- Providing the safest, most effective nursing care to all surgical patients using the nursing process
- Care of equipment and supplies
- Customer satisfaction, including patients, staff, physicians, peers, families and administration
- Staff and unit productivity
- Fiscal responsibility for the unit, including the budget
- Compliance with state, federal and other regulatory requirements
- Development of policies and procedures, in conjunction with Administration which support the organization’s  goals and business objectives and ensures that these are met
- Oversee quality improvement plan
- Department performance evaluations and progressive discipline if necessary
- Determines the appropriate staff mix for the department and follows|assists in developing  processes to screen, hire, train and maintain the competency of staff
- Accepts other duties as requested by the Chief Nursing Officer.
- Assist the Chief Nursing Officer with initiation of new service lines, acquires equipment as needed for new service lines.
