ADMINSTRATIVE SUPERVISOR, NURSING
Department:    Inpatient Nursing Admin  
Schedule:    Full time
Job Details:    Provides consistent on-site administrative coverage for the hospital and is responsible for coordinating the operations of the hospital on his|her assigned shift. Coordinates patient placement consistent with care needs and resources, staffing reallocations and patient flow, accepting all patients meeting our capacity criteria. Assists with direct and indirect care as needed. Functions as a consultant and educator for all inpatient staff including Nursing, ED, Bed Management, Laboratory, Radiology and Pharmacy. Supervises the shift Staffing Assistant, providing direction as needed. Functions as the on-site administrator, addressing patient and staff complaints, media inquires and emergency preparedness.

Minimum Requirements:

Education|Qualifications:
· BS degree in Nursing is required.
Experience:             
· A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in nursing beginning at the staff nurse level with assumption of positions of increasing responsibility.
Licensure|Certificates:
· NYS Licensure as a Registered Nurse.
· BLS and ACLS must be obtained within 6 months from date of hire.
Skills:      
· Functions as the on-site hospital administrator.
· Understands and promotes the Mission, Vision, Values, Strategies and Tactics of Bassett Healthcare.
·  Facilitates and coordinates flow of patients and staff to maintain optimal hospital operations.
· Assess and organizes the resolution of clinical and operational issues.
· Develops strong working relationships with colleagues and collaborates effectively with all levels of staff.
· Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to assist with care of our primary patient populations.
· Demonstrates the ability to precept and mentor staff.
· Creates a can do atmosphere throughout the organization.
· Provides proactive administrative and staff support in a relationship based care environment.
· Advocates for patients, families and staff.
· Functions as an administrative liaison to internal and external customers of Bassett Healthcare.
· Promotes fiscally responsible resource management.
· Promotes professional accountability.
· Demonstrates support of continuous quality improvement philosophy.
· Recognizes and appreciates the diversity in staff.
