Job Title: Medical Director for Family/ Urgent Care

02740    (Physician/MD qualifications required) Family Practice - Creatively, consistently and compassionately manages the daily operations for the Greater New Bedford Community urgent care department. Uses his|her passion for treating patients from underserved communities to provide the highest level of care. Maintains collaborative relationships with staff throughout the Health Center to ensure efficient and effective operations as well as quality care for patients. Establishes and maintains systems to ensure that patient service and clinical data flow support organizational objectives. Oversees staff schedules and manages the department budget.

Cares for patients in accordance to the standards of practice of Adult Medicine and Urgent Care.
Collaborates with multi-disciplinary team to ensure our patients’ diverse needs are met.
Provides supervision and oversight for clinical practice of mid-level practitioners. Provides mentoring and support as needed.
Participates and directs development of products and services of the Urgent Care department to meet appropriate community needs|demands.
Completes staff evaluations and peer review as required.
Ensures that there are open lines of communication flowing to, from and within the Urgent Care department. Participates in leadership meetings and holds regular department meetings to keep staff informed, answer questions and receive their feedback.
Ensures the department is meeting or exceeding all regulatory and Health Center quality and compliance requirements.
Maintains thorough medical records that are finalized in accordance with the Health Center’s documentation requirements.
Keeps patients’ protected health information confidential and ensures staff adherence to the Health Center’s HIPAA policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Education: Medical Doctor in a primary care discipline
Experience: A minimum of six (6) years’ experience in a clinical role and three (3) years’ of supervisory experience is preferred.
Certification|Licensure: Board certified and licensed to practice medicine in Massachusetts
Software|Hardware: Strong EMR skills are required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as Word and Excel are a plus.
