(Physician/MD qualifications required) Psychiatry (General) - Fantastic opportunity for a psychiatrist with leadership experience to join a physician-led, employed professionally managed and quality-driven multi-specialty practice which is affiliated with an independent, community teaching hospital, located on the Connecticut shoreline in Fairfield County, with the feel of New England, but only 45 minutes from New York City.

Group is seeking an Inpatient Psychiatry Unit Chief, to oversee a 20 Bed In-Patient Unit.
Group is seeking an experienced full-time Adult Psychiatrist to provide high quality, patient-centered care to patients on the Psychiatric unit. The position assists the Dept. Chair, Clinical Operations Director of Behavioral Health, and the Nurse Manager in the discharge of Departmental duties. The Psychiatry Unit Chief will monitor the clinical activity of house Psychiatrists to assure quality care is given, and will supervise the staff Psychiatrists, APPs, and behavioral health professionals in the department.

The unit chief will share patient load with staff psychiatrist carrying a patient load of 10. Unit Chief responsibilities include 30% administrative duties and 70% patient care. Participation in the medical education of residents, medical students and physician assistant students is a component of the role. Other duties include the education, supervision, and clinical guidance to staff on the in-patient unit and supporting departmental quality and performance improvement effort. Shared call includes 24-hour in-house week-end coverage once a month (equal to twelve - thirteen 24 hour shifts a year), as well as 1 or 2 holidays a year.
