Summary:
The Director of Critical Care Services is part of the hospital administrative team and assists with the organization, direction, management and evaluation of patient care services for the Critical Care Service areas.
Responsible for the clinical, operational and financial management of the Critical Care departments.
Interpret policies, procedures, standards, and regulations as is appropriate to personnel, medical staff, patients, and public.
Budgetary or fiscal accountability and is responsible 24 hours a day for the ongoing effective operation of units.
Oversees the unit’s operation to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of care and to maximize patient, physician, and employee satisfaction.
Frequent contact with employees, physicians, customers, community individuals and volunteers.
Develop and review monitoring activities related to the quality of nursing care provided.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accrediting agencies.
Must have strong knowledge of all aspects of Critical Care Services and related areas.
Performs responsibilities in accordance with hospital goals, objectives, policies and procedures.
Experience:
2 years CCU, ICU, CVICU, SICU, Neuro ICU, Trauma Unit experience required
Patient Care Management experience preferred
Demonstrated leadership abilities experience required
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required
Master's Degree in Nursing or Healthcare related field highly preferred
Certifications | Licensure:
State Registered Nurse (RN) License or Multi-State Compact License (AL, AZ, AR, CO, DE, FL, GA, ID, IN, IO, KS, KY, LA, ME, MD, MS, MO, MT, NE, NH, NJ, NM, NC, ND, OK, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WV, WI, WY)
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Trauma Nursing Core Certification (TNCC)
CPI Certification at orientation (Crisis Prevention Institution)
