LOCATION: Manhattan (suburban community, about 30 minutes to Manhattan)


PRACTICE OPPORTUNITY:

• Located in a suburban community about 30 minutes to Manhattan, several Laboratory Supervisors are needed for a variety of departments at a hospital. They include Microbiology, General and Chemistry Labs.

• These excellent professional opportunities are due to growth and expansion.


• Work Schedules: Day and Night Shifts are available.


Requirements:

• New York State Clinical Laboratory License is required.

• Previous supervisory experience would be a plus but is not required.

Duties|Responsibilities of the Laboratory Supervisor

• Supervise both Medical Technicians and Clinical Lab Scientists.

• Responsible for scheduling and supervising lab personnel.

• Accountable for both quantity and quality of specimens as well as test results.

• Collaborate with other departments (Blood Bank, Hematology, Central Processing and Histology) to resolve problems and potential problems.

• Keep costs and expenses within the budgetary guidelines of the department.

• Monitor and review the proficiency of testing.

• Remedy of instrument failures and fixing reagent|quality control issues

• Handling the delays in testing as well as the communication of abnormal results.
