Summary:
Under direct supervision of a psychiatrist, provides psychiatric medication services at the site assigned by the CCO|Medical Director. Provides clinical care, assessment, treatment and support services to adult consumers and|or their families, including planning, implementation and documentation.
The PNP must be prepared to work with members who are uncooperative, disoriented or aggressive as they assess patients' needs and develop plans of treatment.
Uses the nursing process, drawing upon extensive knowledge, experience and research to identify problem situations or issues in patient care; analyses, interprets, advises and consults with staff and other health care professionals to provide high quality, contemporary care.  
Providing direct psychiatric services through the comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning, and treatment of clients assigned.
Provides consultation and guidance to all levels of the nursing staff pertinent to patient care problems within the field of specialty.  
 Make in-house referrals for further therapeutic counseling.
Assuring the involvement of families and other person’s of the client’s choice whenever possible, with the client’s consent, in treatment planning.
Complete the history of the present illness and review of past histories. Interview patients to obtain insight into their problems.
Serving as psychiatric liaison with community care providers, particularly with regard to continuity of patient care.
Prescribe and administer medications, assist in consumers’ medication management in collaboration with the supervising psychiatrist under State Guidelines
Collaborate with a psychiatrist to maximize efficiency of psychiatric services
Coordinate consumer care regarding access to services, lab tests, case management, primary clinician, outreach services and other agencies
Knowledge of psychotropic medication administration and practice.
Performs other such duties as assigned within the scope of the position and program description, as well as those reflective of their experience, education and ability.
Other related duties as assigned by the CCO|Medical Director.

Seeking a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner to work primarily in an In-Patient setting, due to growth. Flexibility to do some work in PHP would be a plus. Child|Adolescent case load, ages 4-17. At least 1 year of practice experience as a PMHNP serving C|A population is required. Call coverage 1 night|week (telephonic) & 1 weekend|mo is included in base compensation. Can do extra weekends for additional pay. Duties include: psych evaluations, medication management, treatment team participation|planning. Case load varies 10-20. Compensation package includes Base Compensation, Bonus Potential, Paid Malpractice Insurance, medical, dental, vision insurances, matching 401k, PTO, CME, relocation assistance if moving, employee stock purchase program, commencement bonus. College community located 2 hrs south of Chicago.
 
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required
Master's Degree in Nursing required
 
Certification | Licensure:
Valid State Registered Nursing (RN) license
Valid State Nurse Practitioner (NP) license
Current Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner certification (ARNP)
Valid State Drug Enforcement Administrator (DEA) license
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) for Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association
Additional technical and professional certifications may be required
 
Experience:
3-5 years experience in a Nurse Practitioner role
Psychiatric Care nursing experience preferred
