Specialize in the evaluation and treatment of children with a variety of needs. The treatment and facilitation of sensory and motor development in children of all ages. Therapists promote the use of play in sessions with children, providing a fun and motivating setting in which to learn and grow. Occupational therapist should be skilled in meeting needs in these areas:
Fine motor development and coordination
Visual motor skills
Visual-perceptual skills
Sensory processing and sensory integration skills
Therapeutic Listening
Handwriting Without Tears (HWT)
Self-care skills
Oral motor skills and feeding
Adaptive equipment needs
Reflex emergence|integration
Visual efficiency skills
Adaptive equipment: positioning, splints, sensory needs
