(Physician/MD qualifications required) Infectious Diseases - 1,000 Bed University Based teaching Hospital seeks an Infectious Disease Physician.

This new position is a combination of administrative and clinical duties:

Full or clinical academic appointment
Work with Medical Director to develop, maintain and systematically evaluate the quality and effectiveness of the system-wide program designed to identify, reduce and prevent healthcare-associated infections
Direct infection prevention activities on adult inpatient units at Hospital and related outpatient settings
Provide strategic leadership in the development, implementation and evaluation of a comprehensive and aligned Infection Prevention and Control Plan
Educates executive management, department leaders and members of the medical staff in the changing and emerging local and national infection prevention and control initiatives
Analyze data regarding procedure-associated infections, device-associated infections, and infections – develop plans to mitigate risk
Provide support for developing educational material for healthcare workers regarding principles of infection prevention and control
Provide direct clinical care to patients within the Division of Infectious Diseases
Additional duties as outlined by the Medical Director and Director of Infection Prevention
Visa friendly
Qualifications:

Board certified or eligible in Internal or Family Medicine
Fellowship trained and board certified or eligible in Infectious Disease
Demonstratable experience in healthcare epidemiology and infection prevention
