(Only QUALIFIED Healthcare Professionals accepted) Mental Health Counselor/Therapist - The Counselor is responsible for providing client assessments, monthly counseling, crisis intervention, and other services to assist the client in the treatment process.


Works with patients to complete all intakes, admissions, discharges, and transfer paperwork.

Facilitates|co-facilitates therapy groups as assigned.

Coordinates services with community providers.

Completes appropriate documentation for the patient records.

Prepares patient progress reports.

Provides appropriate referrals to community resources.

Provides coverage for other Counselors as needed.

Provides educational sessions to patients as assigned.

Performs drug screens as needed.

Transports patients as needed.

Performs other tasks as assigned.

Case Management services as needed.


Education, Certification|Licensure, and|or Experience

Must have at the minimum an LSW, LMFT, LPC active and in good standing in the state of Ohio.

Experience in the substance abuse field is not required but preferred

Experience Required:

A minimum of 500 hours of experience in substance abuse is preferred

Knowledge, skills, and abilities required

Knowledge of substance abuse and co-occurring disorders – characteristics, assessment, and treatment.

Personal characteristics of maturity and professionalism with a sincere desire to work with recovering individuals.

Basic computer skills in word processing, e-mail, and Internet use.

Language Skills

Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills

Ability to read and comprehend moderately to complex instructions and correspondence

Ability to write detailed correspondence

Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to patients and their families, Program leadership, employees, clients, providers, vendors, etc.
