New graduates welcome to apply.

Location: Shreveport, LA

Duties Include:

·         Evaluate, Diagnose and treat patients with musculoskeletal injuries

·          Medication management and adjust doses   to severity of pain 

·         Administer trigger point injections

·         Perform large joint injections

• Diagnose and treat acute, episodic or chronic pain disorders.
• Prescribe all necessary medications  and decide best course of  treatment.
• Perform comprehensive physical examinations of patients.
• Develop and implement patient management policies and procedures
• Facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities
• Communicate with collaborating physician or specialist regarding patient care

·         Have  an in-depth knowledge of the physiology of pain

·         Experience in Orthopedic, Joint, spine or interventional pain management

QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Licensed as a Physician Assistant in the state of Louisiana

·         PAC degree from an accredited school or University

• Good knowledge base of musculoskeletal pathology and treatment is essential
• Must have the ability to relate to patients in chronic pain
• Must understand the difference between chronic and acute pain
• Expected to coherently explain why increased pain is not necessarily related to increased tissue damage and how deconditioning leads to increased pain
and depression

Hours of operation:

Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
