Nurses care for people who are sick, injured, convalescent or disabled. Under general supervision, they deliver care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation, in accordance with established philosophy. Nurses collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes. Nurses effectively interact with patient and significant others, while maintaining the standard of professional nursing. The nature of the direction and supervision required for this position varies by State and job setting. Telemetry Nurses provide care by connecting patients to machines that measure heart rate, blood pressure, breathing rate, as well as blood-oxygen levels and electrocardiogram information. These machines then send data to computer screens for nurses to monitor. Telemetry Nurses read and interpret the data to better determine patient care.

Education Required:
Nursing degree|diploma upon hire.
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or higher within three (3) years of hire or equivalent education|experience.
A RN with 20 years of RN experience will not be required to obtain a BSN.
Any previously agreed upon effective date for obtaining a bachelor’s degree in nursing between individual and facility will remain in effect.
Any collective bargaining contract with specific time frames for obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in nursing will supersede the above point and will remain in effect.
Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis at each facility by the most senior administrative nursing leader in consultation with the Human Resources leader.
RNs employed prior to 1|1|17 are encouraged to obtain a Bachelor’s degree or higher degree in Nursing, but obtaining the degree will not be a condition of employment.

Education Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing upon hire.
National Certification in area of specialty, unless otherwise indicated.

Certification | Licensure Required:
Montana Registered Nurse License upon hire.
National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
Provider ACLS - American Heart Association within ninety (90) days of hire.

Experience Required:
One (1) year acute care experience working with the patient population similar to department of hire or completion of the specialty residency located at that facility.
Special Skills:  
Must be able to utilize independent decision-making skills in a wide variety of situations. 
Requires a high degree of accuracy in the performance of varied responsibilities.  
Personal computer skills required. 
Must be self-motivated to complete work in a timely manner to meet deadlines.
