Summary:
The Registered Nurse provides patient care in response to patient identified needs.
Coordinates the total nursing care of assigned patients including assessment, planning, implementation, and documentation.
Assist in achieving patient quality of care, national patient safety, regulatory agency, and budgetary goals.
Carries out physician orders.
Administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, and monitors vital signs.
Serves as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Instructs and educates patients and families.
Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
Responsible for delegating to and supervising the job classes of: student nurse, LPN, nursing assistant, and others as assigned.
Additional functions will be performed in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act in a manner consistent with the mission and goals of the organization.
Education:
Associates of Nursing required from an Accredited Nursing School
Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing Master’s Degree preferred
Certification | Licensure:
State Registered Nurse (RN) License
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN);
Cardiac Medicine Certification (CMC);
Progressive Care Nursing (PCCN);
Cardiovascular Nurse Certification (CVNC) preferred
Experience:
2-3 years of nursing experience in a hospital required.
1-2 years of cardiology, cardiac cath, and|or critical care nursing experience highly desired.
Special Skills:
Must be able to utilize independent decision-making skills in a wide variety of situations.
Requires a high degree of accuracy in the performance of varied responsibilities. Personal computer skills required.
Frequent contact with employees, physicians, customers, community individuals and volunteers.
Must be self-motivated to complete work in a timely manner to meet deadlines.
