Position Overview:
Seeking an experienced Interventional Cardiologist for locum tenens coverage at a busy hospital near Houston, TX. The hospital is a 24|7 STEMI receiving center with strong APP and physician support.
Clinical Responsibilities:
STEMI coverage and inpatient care
Non-invasive cardiology (required)
Invasive cardiology procedures including angioplasty, stent placement, atherectomy, PA catheter, IABP, cardiac catheterization (required)
TEE preferred but not required
Nuclear cardiology read by radiologists; cardiologists manage positive stress tests
Support from 1 general cardiologist and 2-3 interventionalists
Flexible Schedule Options:
Weekends; Fri to Mon, Fri to Tues or Thursday to Monday; 7a to 7a
Qualifications:
TX medical license required
DEA, BLS, ACLS certifications required
Board certification in Interventional Cardiology preferred
Experience managing emergent STEMI cases preferred
Technically sound with excellent judgment in cath lab
Additional Info:
Orientation provided (day of start acceptable)
Emergency or temporary hospital privileges available ASAP
EMR systems: eMDs (clinic), Meditech (hospital)
