Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified and compassionate Dentist to join a mission-driven community health center in Independence, LA. This exempt position focuses on preventive and primary dental care, consistent with the dentist’s training and scope of practice. The Dentist will care for patients of all ages and ensure the highest standard of care within a team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities
~Examine, diagnose, and treat dental conditions in accordance with approved clinical guidelines.
~Document all patient care activities accurately and promptly in dental records and EMR systems.
~Educate patients on oral hygiene, health conditions, treatment plans, and disease prevention.
~Prescribe appropriate medications and refer patients to specialists as needed.
~Participate in staff education, mentoring, and onboarding of new dental team members.
~Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, and organizational protocols governing dental care and practice.
~Stay current on best practices in dentistry through continuing education and training.
~Perform additional clinical and administrative duties as assigned by the Dental Director to meet organizational goals.

Qualifications
~Education:
~~DDS or DMD from an accredited dental school.
~Licensure & Certifications:
~~Unrestricted license to practice dentistry in Louisiana.
~~Current Louisiana CDS and DEA registration.
~~Active CPR certification.
~~Technical Proficiency:
~~Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
~~Experience with EMR systems preferred.
~Skills & Competencies:
~~Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic ability.
~~Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.
~~Attention to detail, multi-tasking capability, and sound decision-making.
~~Professional demeanor with strong ethics and patient-first mindset.
