Position Overview
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Wound Care Registered Nurse to provide expert medical reviews for the Veterans Administration. This is a remote, case-based role where you will leverage your clinical expertise to conduct objective reviews of wound care cases, contributing to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for a practicing professional to earn supplemental income with a flexible schedule.

Qualifications
~ Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
~ Licensure: Current, non-restricted RN license in a U.S. state or territory.
~ Experience: Minimum 5 years of active clinical practice in wound care and 2 years of recent specialty experience. Must be actively practicing with hospital privileges and working at least 20 clinical hours per month onsite.
~ Technical Skills: Board-certified with an active RN wound care certificate.
~ Soft Skills: Strong analytical, critical thinking, and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and provide objective, well-reasoned written opinions.
Key Responsibilities

~ Quality Management Reviews
~ Standardized set of questions
~ “Was the standard of care timely and appropriate?”
~ Approx. 1 hour to complete
~ Management Other Cases:
~ Non-standardized set of questions
~ Cases may be initiated for performance improvement indicators
~ Approx. 1 hour to complete
~ Medical Advisory Opinions (MAOs):
~ Non-standardized set of attorney-initiated questions
~ Typically initiated by patient complaints and malpractice concerns
~ Approx. 2–4 hours to complete
~ All VA case reviews are protected, and reviewers will not be asked to present in court.
