Hospital C: The facility is located approximately 1.5 hrs. from Montgomery and an hour from Jackson.

Avg. # of patients during a 24 hr. period – 11-12 | approx. 6k annual visits. Trauma patients are stabilized and transferred to nearby facilities. Solo physician coverage assisted with either 2 RNs or 1 RN|1 LPN. X-ray, CT & Lab on site and always staffed. Remote radiologist reads all CT’s and X-rays. EMR: implemented. ER has a very private physician suite that offers a bed, shower, refrigerator, etc.

Hospital W: This facility is located 45 min. from Birmingham. Great facility with very seasoned staff!

Avg. 35-40 patients per 24 hrs. Single coverage. Staff with 2 RNs and one split shift either RN or EMT. They have Rad, CT, RT, Lab all 24 hrs. There is an inpatient hospitalist that takes care of all admitted patients. The ER doctor does respond to inpatient codes and rapid responses. Yes, the bulk of the patients are not critical complaints. We do occasionally have traumas that are stabilized and shipped to UAB. We also have critical patients that we sometimes just have to find ICU beds for. Newly constructed ED that offers approx. 9500 sq. ft. with 10 private rooms.
