Job Title: Critical Care ICU Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner

Boston Area (Only QUALIFIED Healthcare Professionals accepted) Acute & Critical Care-NP - Just a short drive from Boston, we invite you to join our experienced Critical Care ICU team. As an Acute Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, you will be working closely with our cardiac surgeons, intensivists, and hospitalists in this night shift position. Due to the high volume of cases we do, invasive procedural experience is a must.
Compensation
• Base: $130,000 - $190,000
• (Comparable to $265,000 in Boston)
• +$100|hr for additional shifts (if interested, not required)
• +$2,000 CME Allowance

• Nights, 7 on 7 off
• 7pm - 7am

• 250 Bed, non-profit hospital
• 20 bed critical care (ICU)
• 10-12 patient average census
• Suburban Massachusetts
• Less than an hour from Boston
General Duties Include
• History, diagnostic tests, comprehensive physical examinations, and behavioral and developmental assessments
• Performs daily assessments of all patients when a consult has been requested
• Daily SICU|CCU rounds with members of the health care team to gather and exchange patient information
• Clinical assessments and continuous patient management if needed for patients with complex health care needs
• Writes orders, including diagnostic tests and medication orders (non-narcotic and narcotic) to accomplish acute and long term plan of care
• Routine diagnostic and therapeutic procedures according to established protocols and current standards for acute care nurse practitioner practice
• Performs treatments and administers pharmacological therapies, IV fluids, and blood products as needed in acute care situations
• Manages oxygen and ventilator therapy based on interpretation of clinical, x-ray, and blood gas data in conjunction with the pulmonologists and anesthesiologist
• Evaluates patient physiological and behavioral responses to interventions for revision of management plan and documents changes in the medical progress notes
• Attends cardiopulmonary arrest situations, and responds to the needs of compromised patients providing resuscitations as needed
Requirements
• Licensed as a Masters or Doctorate prepared Acute Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• 2 to 3 years of related ICU experience preferred
• Proficiency in invasive procedures (A lines, central lines, PICC lines, etc.) is required
• Experience with intubation, chest tubes, and thoracentesis is a plus
• New graduates with requisite experience invited to apply
