Location: Utica, New York

Contract Length: 14 weeks
Shift: Nights, 6:30 p.m.–7:00 a.m.

Position Summary
TRITAL Care is seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse for a travel assignment in Utica, New York. The RN will provide safe, patient-centered care to an adult population with a variety of medical and post-surgical conditions.
Floating to other appropriate units is required based on facility needs. Block scheduling may be considered by the facility but is not promised or guaranteed.
Responsibilities
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care.
• Care for adult medical-surgical and post-operative patients.
• Administer medications and IV therapies according to facility policies.
• Monitor patients and promptly communicate changes in condition.
• Manage IV pumps, nasogastric tubes, and feeding tubes.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Coordinate care with physicians and the interdisciplinary team.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment and discharge plans.
• Float to comparable units based on competency and facility needs.
• Follow all facility safety, infection-control, and professional practice requirements.

• Cholelithiasis
• Osteoarthritis
• Fractures
• Back pain
• Morbid obesity and bariatric surgery recovery
Required Qualifications
• Active, unrestricted New York Registered Nurse license
• Minimum two years of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience
• Previous travel nursing experience
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification
• Ability and willingness to work night shifts and float as required
• Experience caring for adult medical-surgical and post-operative patients
• Proficiency with IV pumps, NG tubes, and feeding tubes
• Successful completion of all facility-required health, background, credentialing, and compliance requirements
