Position Summary
• TRITAL Care is seeking an experienced Cardiovascular Operating Room Registered Nurse to join a hospital Heart Team for a 13-week travel assignment. The RN will provide perioperative nursing care during cardiovascular, cardiothoracic, and robotic surgical procedures.
• This assignment includes required rotational call coverage. Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the assigned facility to qualify for this travel position.
• Responsibilities
• Provide safe and effective perioperative nursing care during cardiovascular and cardiothoracic procedures.
• Perform circulating and other assigned operating-room responsibilities within the RN’s documented competency.
• Prepare the operating room, equipment, supplies, and implants for scheduled procedures.
• Maintain sterile technique and ensure compliance with infection-prevention standards.
• Conduct and document required surgical counts, safety checks, and time-outs.
• Anticipate the needs of surgeons and the interdisciplinary Heart Team.
• Monitor patients throughout the perioperative process and communicate changes promptly.
• Assist with robotic surgical procedures within demonstrated competency.
• Document nursing care accurately and according to facility requirements.
• Participate in rotational weekday and weekend call coverage.
• Respond within the facility’s required call-back timeframe.
• Follow all hospital, departmental, regulatory, and patient-safety requirements.
• Required Qualifications
• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse license valid for practice in Illinois
• Minimum three years of recent CVOR experience
• Recent robotic surgery experience
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification
• Current American Heart Association ACLS certification, if required by the assignment
• Verifiable nursing education from an accredited nursing program
• Demonstrated cardiovascular operating-room competency
• Ability to participate in required rotational call coverage
• Successful completion of all facility-required health, background, credentialing, and compliance require
